The spoils I brought home included a bunch of flyers/cards, free comics, free posters, a World of Warcraft figure, a model of Uran (Astro Boy's robot sister), a pirate-themed cane, and a pair of autographs from Michael Adamthwaite (nice guy, we talked a bit about the business) and Robert Picardo. Those autographs felt a bit expensive, though (30 dollars in all).
Me and my friend went to some work shops about character design on Saturday. The person holding the work shop, Astra Crompton, was actually my friend's karate instructor from a while back. She was very nice. I managed to get a picture and signature from her, but I seem to have misplaced it...
Eventually me and my friend found out there was more stuff going on in another part of the hotel where the convention took place. My friend bought a ton of comics and we met up with Astra again. In between browsing, we stopped by an anime marathon taking place upstairs.
There were other things going on upstairs as well. There was a zombie movie marathon, question & answer periods with various convention guests, tabletop role-playing games and trading card game matches, and a room for kids to do some colouring/drawing.
There were also some performances going on upstairs later in the evening, but those were VIP-only. Getting in would have been very expensive. DX
At one point, we went out for lunch at a nearby pizza place. Along the way, we encountered a large cluster of people dressed as zombies. Apparently, there was a "zombie walk" going on. X3
Eventually, me and my friend headed home, but after supper, I sought to head back to partake of the anime marathon going on. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the Hellsing movies being shown at midnight. However, the volunteers managing the anime room were a very friendly and entertaining bunch. I had fun chatting with them and watching them play around. X3
On Sunday, me and my friend went back. I gave a zodiac Beanie Baby (Rat) to Astra. I figured I might as well, considering I didn't know anyone else nearby who was born in the Year of the Rat. At one point, I had wanted to get an autograph from Dave McCaig, but I had forgotten my DVD case of "The Batman" season one. So, with some planning, I managed to meet up with my father, drop off my stuff, pick up my DVD case, and get back with enough time to grab an autograph and do some things before me and my friend headed out.
*We made a quick stop by a comic shop (I actually forgot I had a special coupon for the comic shop that I nabbed at the convention >.<
All in all, it was a pretty good time. I kind of wish I had more money, though. XD
Right, now for the bad news...for some reason, my eyes have been a bit hazy, blurry and sore lately. I'm thinking I've been in front of my computer too much. At any rate, I'm going to get my eyes checked on Wednesday. Hopefully, everything will be all right with my eyes. I might need a break from electronic displays, though...
Well, I guess that's all. Hope you are all doing okay! Take care!
